Messages for December 5th-7th 2011

As 2011 comes to a close, we’re trying to get Chubeza’s finances in good order. Thus, we will be charging your credit cards on the fixed dates for any additional products (beyond vegetables and fruits) you added to your boxes.

Payment for the vegetables and fruits will continue to be charged from the 25th-31st of each month, with an e-mail invoice to follow. Payment for the additional products will be charged from the 5th-10th of the following month, accompanied by an email report of the transaction. This month, the billing for additional products will include purchases over the past few months. Afterwards, it will be billed on a monthly basis.

Remember – Rona’s milk products from Yotav and Maggie’s sprouts are charged directly by them, and are listed in your credit card bills as “Yotav” and “Hagina shel Maggie.

Our best holiday greetings to our Thai workers who are celebrating one of the most important festivities on the Thai calendar: the king of Thailand’s birthday. Happy holiday!

And to our own Mohammed who celebrated his birthday with Thai king – Kul Sana Wa Inta Salem, Ad 120!

This week I’m filling in at Chubeza for the new father, and therefore will not have time to write a newsletter. We’ll meet again next week!

What’s in This Week’s Boxes?

Monday: Sweet potatoes, lettuce, leeks or scallions, green or red mustard greens, arugula, parsley, radishes, cabbage or broccoli or cauliflower, potatoes, onions, tomatoes

In the large box, in addition: Beets with greens, dill, sweet red peppers

Wednesday: lettuce, mustard greens, potatoes, parsley, broccoli or cabbage or cauliflower, daikon, cucumbers, kale os Swiss chard, tomatoes, potatoes, scallions.

In the large box in addition: red peppers, dill, turnips

And there’s more! You can add to your basket a wide, delectable range of additional products from fine small producers: granola and cookies, flour, sprouts, goat dairies, fruits, honey, crackers, probiotic foods, sesame butter and dried fruits and leathers too! You can learn more about each producer on the Chubeza website. The attached order form includes a detailed listing of the products and their cost. Fill it out, and send it back to us soon.

No recipes this week either, but check with our facebook group to consult with the experts. I saw great recommendations there for recipes and a variety of uses for the vegetables (as well as help in identifying them, for the confused amongst us.) I salute the Facebook group’s efforts!

Have a great week!

Bat Ami, Alon and the Chubeza team
