Don’t Miss Chubeza’s Open Day Tomorrow!

We’d like to remind you that this week we are not sending vegetables boxes, but we invite you to come and visit us – Tomorrow, Thursday, October 17th between 12:00-17:00 is our Sukkot Open Day and we’d be delighted to have you join us!

The Open Day gives you a chance to see where your vegetables are growing, to
get a close-up look at them in the field, and to smell, touch, taste. And of course,
you get the chance to meet us, the faces behind your veggie boxes, as well as
your fellow Chubeza members who create the community that supports local
small agriculture and makes the farm a reality.

We’ll have:

Field Tours: every hour on “the half” – Come wander between the beds, meet
the plants and the stories that accompany their growth. Alon is leading a more
“professional” tour; Bat-Ami’s tour is designed for kids. Tour schedule (more or
less…): 12:30, 13:20, 14:30, 15:30.
Cooking Corner – We’ll bake pita on the fire (saaj) for you to add to the salad.
Baking will take place primarily between 13:00-15:00.
Arts & Crafts Corner – This Sukkot we’ll create art from natural materials – you can make mandalas, pictures or any other nature creation that you’d like. We’ll have lots of material from nature, glue, scissors etc. You’re welcome to bring your imaginations and good hands. Guided crafts sessions between 12:00-15:00 (you can continue on your own afterwards).
“Hands in dirt” Corner – This year, we would like to give you the opportunity to experiment with real field work – as you will see, the weeds in the field grow vigorously, and compete with our young seedlings. If you would like to work a little – you can join our team in weeding some beds- smells of rain after the rain, calm and autumnal sun – pleasure Promised.

Joyous, toe-thumping music will accompany us during the festival – The Hazel Hill Band will serenade us with wonderful music from 12:00-14:00.

Join us in our famous corn Sukka! Help yourself to our free veggie-salad stand,
and don’t miss yummy bakery goods, juice and cider for sale. And settle back to
enjoy the delightful cold water, plentiful shade and fresh air.

Vegetables, fruits and additional homegrown products will be available for
purchase at our produce stand at the festival.
