The Weekly Newsletter of Chubeza Farm

October 28, 2026

A CHANCE, EVEN IN EARLY DARKNESS

Wednesday clients, please note! Next Tuesday on Election Day we will not be in the office. The ordering system will close for changes and additions on Monday, 26.10 at 9:00 AM. Please make all orders and updates by that time. Thank you!

May these elections bring goodness for all!

At this point in time, after the holidays have passed, autumn is here in all its glory. The gradual sunrises are painted by a bold, rosy brush, and the sunsets a glorious orange. Chubeza’s tomatoes and cucumbers are beginning to recover from their initial shock of cooler weather and longer nights, as we hope to soon return to regular yields and   quantities of veggies that our boxes usually hold. This week, we welcome daikon and kohlrabi to the autumn lineup, as well as the first broccoli and cauliflower pioneers. (Still in small quantities, but more is out there on the horizon…).

This week’s Chubeza Newsletter stars new products and renewals in the vegetable box and beyond:

The Hamatsesa Cidery in Yad HaShmona is now offering their delectable home-produced apple and pear juice in more economical plastic containers. Plus, there’s a new, very special addition to their fine selection of ciders: mead, also known as honey wine. This alcoholic fermented beverage is made from honey, water, and yeast. Mead is one of human history’s most ancient alcoholic drinks, likely predating both wine and beer. It’s made at Hamatsesa Cidery from honey produced from the beehives of Kibbutz Ayelet HaShahar. A delicate, distinctive drink you must try!

Chubeza’s Silan (date syrup) Section welcomes the new additions of Barhi and Medjool silan (date honey) from Kibbutz Samar and Neot Semadar. Both kibbutzim are renowned for their long‑established, impressive organic date orchards. In addition, they also produce concentrated, top‑quality silan made from 100% organic dates, with no added sweeteners or other additives. As the harvest season is in full swing, now is a perfect time to rediscover the date’s distinctive sweetness preserved in this rich, mouthwatering syrup.

Yael’s Natural Soap has returned, this time in a refreshing, aromatic apple‑and‑cinnamon motif. This beautiful soap in its stunning green‑red hues is nearly tempting enough to take a bite… Yael’s extraordinary fruit‑and‑vegetable soaps are made solely from natural ingredients, captivating the natural fruit or vegetable sugars to create a foamy, elegant soap. Yael is truly an artist. Each season she creates a soap that is not only a visual work of art but captures the rhythm of the season and the moment – the texture, the scent, the total experience. We highly recommend these exquisite products!

And -- one last but certainly not least invigorating renewal: a unique workshop that will take place in Chubeza’s fields in about two weeks, within the “Community Meets Agriculture” activities in our Gezer Regional Council.

We cordially invite you to take part in a From Field to Table Workshop, a culinary journey in nature. Come pick, taste, and discover the magic of combining soil, agriculture, and incomparable food in the heart of Chubeza’s fields.

Enjoy these great experiences:

  • A fascinating tour of the organic farm
  • Picking veggies in the field
  • A hands‑on culinary workshop featuring freshly harvested ingredients
  • A glass of wine in hand
  • An exceptional atmosphere connecting you to nature, soil, and roots

We will lead the tour, and the workshop will be guided by Yakir and Aviel of Farm To Table Israel, an initiative connecting people, land, and local producers via culinary experiences, local agriculture, and sustainability values.
