February 27- March 1, 2023 – V’NAHAFOCHU — PURIM UPHEAVALS ARE ON THE WAY

Next week we celebrate Purim, a holiday whose very essence is confusion, turnabouts, chaos, balagan…. The saying goes, “Not every day is Purim,” but in a sense for us here in Chubeza’s fields, every day of this last winter has indeed been Purim. The weather has swung from hot and dry days to freezing and raging storms, the mercury has careened from almost zero to almost 30 degrees, and the rain gauge has overflowed its banks with nonstop rain or dried up in zero humidity. This period is very, very strange, and the unexpected reigns. We and the veggies find ourselves in an ongoing struggle to adapt to this V’nahafochu muddle.

With uncanny timing, our Chubeza website also decided to capsize over these last few weeks. These past few days, it has been completely down. The issues that arose there were bigger than we thought, brewing complications so daunting that we decided to solve them by creating a new, clean website. We are working tirelessly behind the scenes to bring it back to life. We remind you that our Order System is an independent entity, independent of the website, and has continued to work well all this time, never missing a beat. In keeping with the holiday spirit, we too are creating a mild state of confusion for you regarding our upcoming delivery schedule: Monday deliveries will be moved back to Sunday, March 5^th. The Order System will close this Friday at 8 AM. Orders for sprouts and mushrooms will already close on Thursday at 3:00 PM. Wednesday deliveries will be moved forward to Thursday, March 9^th. The Order System will close on Wednesday at 9:00 AM. Next week there will be no bread baking. (We told you there’s a balagan!) May all revolutions, upheavals, confusion and chaos remain solely within the boundaries of Purim, enabling us to speedily return to balance, stability and peace!
