Thank you for coming to the open day!

Thanks for Coming to the Open Day!

But first, some messages:

Attention clients from Tel Aviv, Ramat Gan, Givatayim: A change in your delivery date this week!

We apologize for the contradicting messages and last minute notifications. Due to the heavy workload and time pressures on our deliverymen, some of the Tel Aviv deliveries (those south of the Yarkon) will only arrive Wednesday afternoon (sometime around 12:00-1 PM), not Tuesday evening as originally planned.

Our pick up points – Neve Tzedek, Central Tel Aviv, Arlozorov-Dizengoff will only be receiving your boxes on Wednesday afternoon.

All deliveries to North Tel Aviv (north of the Yarkon River), Ramat Gan and Givatayim will arrive Thursday morning (around 9:00-10:00 AM) and not Wednesday night.

Deliveries to our pick up points in Hadar Yosef and Ramat Chen will also take place on Thursday morning.

A Request for Those Who Receive Boxes Every Other Week:

Since there were no deliveries during Chol HaMoed, the post-Holiday schedule now means that all every-other-week customers will be receiving boxes the same week, creating a very busy first week, followed by a very sparse second week. This imbalance is quite difficult for us, so we would like to request anyone who can to give up next week’s box and renew his/her rounds the following week, thus creating a 3-week gap between deliveries.

Alternately, those of you every-other-week customers who would prefer to receive a delivery two weeks in a row and then continue the every-other-week sequence will also assist us in balancing our intermittent weeks.

If either of these options is possible, please advise us by email or text message. We appreciate your help! And we thank those who have already responded to our request for assistance.

We’re back to business this week, but it is a short week indeed.  There’s no time to draft a real newsletter, but we want to take the opportunity to thank all of you who came to the Open Day. We were honored to meet you, to get to know the faces behind the names, take you through our vegetable beds, listen to the beautiful music of the Hazel Hill Band, bake pitta, seed plants and design Mandalas. It was such fun to meet veteran customers visiting the field for the first time—it’s never too late to come! These days always charge us with sweet energy. It is a sheer delight to feel the emergence of a community so supportive and encouraging of our farm.

Thank you, Tal, for the beautiful photos.

Thank you, dear weather, for extending a warm, yet not scorching welcome, and to the gracious Eucalyptus grove that has been faithfully hosting us for some years now, providing protection from the sun and a perfect atmosphere of tranquility and leisure.

A special thanks to the Hazel Hill Band, who have become an Open Day tradition. Every time they come, there are more and more dancers (and these dances are not simple, let me tell you!). Someday, maybe we’ll be able to conduct an actual Chubeza Dance. The band performs voluntarily out of the goodness of their hearts, friendship and camaraderie, and we are very grateful to them.

Thank you, Manu, our wonderful bread baker, who came from the neighboring Moshav Taoz to set up a glorious table of her pastries. There is no substitute for direct contact between the manufacturers and clients. Our associates cannot always come, but when they can, it is a boon for us all. So thank you, Manu.

And last but certainly not least, thanks to our wonderful crew who harvested, built, cleaned, guided, hosted and helped in every possible way for the Open Day: Oren, Machmoud, Lobsang, Pum, Ding, and Vit– without them the Open Days would never be able to take place in the peaceful, charming atmosphere they do. A thousand thank you’s.

This Open Day was a final chord for Oren, who has worked with us over the past two years during a temporary leave-of-absence he took from his job. Thank you so much, Oren, for choosing to spend these two years with us, for your faithfulness, devotion, professionalism, diligence and congeniality. It was wonderful to get to know you, and we insist that this will not be the end of our friendship. We will meet again! Good luck returning to your office work.

Lost and Found: At the end of the Open Day we found a small eyeglasses. Please notify us if you are the owners, and we’ll send them back your way.

May we have a peaceful week and a pleasant return to routine…

Alon, Bat Ami and the Chubeza team
